Many of you know that I am short in stature. 5′ 2″, 5’3″ at the most.
I have been a “worry wart” all my life. I worry if people like me, I worry if people are okay. Nowadays, I worry if people are going to get saved, I’m worried if I have offended someone, I worry about how we are going to pay a bill.
My soulmate, the one God picked for me, is a constant reminder that we should not worry, that we should trust God for everything!
My mindset thinks that since Jesus died on the cross for me, then God has done enough already. Yet He still insists of carrying the burden for our lives!!
Who am I to try to take matters in my own hands? Jesus fed the multitude with just a few loaves and fishes! Who am I to worry myself in a frenzy when God’s word, ALL THROUGH OUT encourages us to, “Cast your burdens on me”
Peter said in 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”
Does worrying change anything? No! It just causes more stress, more fear, more anxiety, burdens relationships… and the list goes on!
Jesus said, in Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Jesus HIMSELF said those WORDS!!! And He ended with something that we should REALLY take to heart, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
